THE DETAILS
Explore Springfield’s urban streams with JRBP on Saturday, May 18th. We’ll be showcasing the South Creek Restoration Project, as well as highlighting the restored riparian corridor on Wilson’s Creek. Learn your watershed address, partake in the “Benthic Boogie”, and get an up close look at the critters that inhabit our local streams with volunteers from Missouri Stream Team. Bring the family to take part in a scavenger hunt for a chance to win fabulous prizes, including gift cards and a framed copy of our James River Explorers Guide. So come join us to stretch your legs, enjoy our beautiful Greenway Trails, and learn about local waterways.
Participants will check in at McDaniel Park at the corner of National and Sunset, and then proceed to two streamside learning stations and educational signage along the South Creek Greenways Trail between Campbell and Fort. Participants who complete the scavenger hunt will qualify for prize drawings. For those looking to up their odds at winning one of the great prizes, the answers to additional scavenger hunt questions can be found along the Wilson’s Creek Greenways Trail in Southwest Springfield.
Funding for this project was provided by The Environmental Protection Agency Region 7 through a MO Department of Natural Resources under Section 319 of the Clean Water Act.
