THE DETAILS

Explore Springfield’s urban streams with the James River Basin Partnership’s online scavenger hunt, “Urban Stream Quest” along the South Creek and Wilsons Creek Greenway Trails. This activity will showcase ongoing stream restoration and protection efforts in the Springfield metro area while providing an opportunity for residents to explore two of the communities favorite greenway trails.

Download the Urban Stream Quest packet and bring the entire family to take part in a scavenger hunt for a chance to win a copy of the Passport to the Ozarks from Ozarks Alive or a $25 gift certificate from Illumine Collect. Get outside, stretch your legs and enjoy our beautiful Ozark Greenways, Inc.. while learning something new about our local waterways. Just be sure to observe social distancing and other safety precautions!

Participants will visit 5 educational signs along the South Creek and Wilsons Creek Greenway Trails. Completed questionnaires and pictures must be submitted via email to toddwilkinson@missouristate.edu by 8:00 am on Monday, May 18, 2020 to qualify for prize drawings.

Participants who complete the scavenger hunt will qualify for prize drawings. For those looking to up their odds at winning one of the great prizes, the answers to additional scavenger hunt questions can be found along the Wilson’s Creek Greenways Trail in Southwest Springfield.

Funding for this project was provided by The Environmental Protection Agency Region 7 through a MO Department of Natural Resources under Section 319 of the Clean Water Act.
