Now Hiring: Project Manager
Under the direct and general supervision of the Executive Director, the Project Manager is responsible for grant and contract deliverables, annual events, and general support for other activities of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for tracking deliverables outlined in grants and contracts, including federal 319 grants, small grants, community contracts, and more.
Create quarterly and annual reports as outlined in grant and contract obligations.
Oversee rebate programs, including advertising, managing communications, processing applications, and reporting.
Manage the soil testing program, performing soil tests and creating nutrient management plans.
Plan and coordinate water quality monitoring events, keeping equipment clean and organized and staying up to date on trainings and certifications.
Contribute to developing educational materials and executing outreach alongside JRBP’s Education Outreach Coordinator.
Coordinate annual cleanup events including River Rescue, Earth Day Cleanup, Adopt-A-Stream, and United Way Day of Caring.
Serve as volunteer coordinator for JRBP projects and events.
Assist in the planning and implementation of annual fundraisers including Sunset Soiree.
Occasionally perform media interviews and public presentations.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
Degree in environmental or natural science related field preferred.
Experience in water quality, soil health, or related fields encouraged.
Experience with project management, grants, and contracts.
Knowledge and Skills
General knowledge of water quality, local geography, and conservation practices.
Ability to rapidly shift priorities in response to changing administrative and organizational needs.
Excellent written and verbal skills are required. The ability to communicate effectively, create and give presentations, interface with media as needed, and work as a team.
Experience using Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to be self-directed, give acute attention to detail, and meet deadlines.
Possess exceptional multitasking and organizational skills.
Experience with towing trailers is preferred.
Paddling experience (canoes and kayaks) is preferred.
Schedule and Work Environment
Ability to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, early-mornings, and occasional overnight trips. No more than 1-2 overnight trips would be anticipated during the course of a year.
The majority of duties will take place indoors with heating and cooling regulated in a general office environment. However, applicants must be able to work outdoors in a variety of settings and all weather conditions.
Regular in-office attendance is a necessary and essential function.
Physical Requirements
Performs bending, kneeling, sorting, twisting, and reaching from ground level to overhead; grips, holds, and carries objects weighing up to 50 pounds; pushes and pulls up to 25 pounds; must be able to operate a computer keyboard and mouse.
Must be able to assist staff and volunteers with a variety of physically demanding outdoor events and activities, including litter clean-ups, water quality and invasive species monitoring, and paddling trips.
Licensing/Certification
Must possess a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License, required liability coverage, and access to a personal vehicle.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Salary & Benefits:
Starting salary is $45,000 - $50,000 based on experience.
